Kitchen Dwellers shared a new single, “Pendulum (V).” The track is set to land on the Bozeman, Montana bluegrass/Americana outfit’s forthcoming album, Seven Devils, arriving March 1, 2024, via No Coincidence Records.
Kitchen Dwellers — mandolinist Shawn Swain, banjo player Torrin Daniels, bassist Joe Funk and guitarist Max Davies — drew inspiration for Seven Devils from the classic work of literature by Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy, which traces an epic journey through the Nine Circles of Hell. In a similar fashion, Seven Devils explores the Seven Deadly Sins. The band tapped Grammy-winning producer Glenn Brown (Billy Strings, Greensky Bluegrass) to helm Seven Devils.

KD previously shared the single/video, “Seven Devils (Limbo),” and now follow with “Pendulum (V).”
“The groundwork for ‘Pendulum’ came from observations within and around me of the concept of addiction replacement and my own interest in how dopamine and other hormones influence compulsion and decision-making in daily life,” Joe Funk stated on the new single. “I’ve long had a theory that everyone has a baseline addictive tendency that must be satisfied, and it is up to the mind to decide at which point on the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ spectrum that habit is chosen.”
