Kermit Ruffins Tribute To Louis Armstrong :: 10.10.15 :: The Hall at MP :: Brooklyn, NY

Kermit Ruffins brought his love of Louis Armstrong and his hometown of New Orleans to Brooklyn’s new the Hall at MP. The venue is owned by Chef Michael Psilakis, who also shared his appreciation of the Crescent City by creating a special food menu featuring unique twists on classic New Orleans fare. The show featured Ruffins on trumpet, Shannon Powell, the self- proclaimed “King of Treme” on drums and the rest of Kermit’s usual band – the BBQ Swingers. Kermit entertained the crowd both with his unique stories and jokes as well as some of Louis’ best known songs including “When You’re Smiling” and “Jeepers Creepers” while the capacity crowd swung and laughed their Saturday night away.
