Kenny Brooks To Guest With Dark Star Orchestra

Former RatDog member Kenny Brooks has been announced as a special guest for Dark Star Orchestra’s show at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on Saturday, May 30. The saxophonist, who played in RatDog from 2000 to 2012, will be on hand to help recreate the legendary Grateful Dead concert that took place March 29, 1990 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. That night on the Spring 1990 Tour saw renowned saxman Branford Marsalis sit in for much of the show.
The March 29, 1990 show marked the first time Marsalis performed with The Dead, emerging near the end of the first set for “Bird Song.” He would return for the entire second set, including the memorable set opening “Eyes Of The World” which the band included on their Without a Net live album. The band made the entire show available last year, titled Wake Up To Find Out: Nassau Coliseum 3/29/90.
