Keller Williams Joins Greensky Bluegrass In New York

Keller Williams and Greensky Bluegrass teamed up to honor the late Jeff Austin on Sunday at the Borderland Music & Arts Festival. The artists performed a song from Austin’s Yonder Mountain String Band days at the second annual event, which was held at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, New York.

The collaboration took place during Greensky’s set. GSBG kicked off their performance, which went heavy on classics, with “New Barns” and “Don’t Lie.” Last night’s “Don’t Lie” contained teases and quotes of Madonna’s “Borderline,” a song that would also be used as post-set music. Next up was Keller and Greensky’s performance of “New Horizons.” Austin and Yonder Mountain String Band debuted “New Horizons” in 2000 and the tune was a staple of the group’s live shows through Jeff’s departure from the band.

Williams was on hand for a Grateful Grass set at the event featuring Oteil Burbridge and The Infamous Stringdusters. Greensky followed the collaboration with “Windshield” and continued on with a run of “Can’t Make Time,” “Just To Lie” and “All Four.” The quintet then treated attendees to “Hit Parade Of Love” and “Jaywalking” before concluding their set with a cover of “When Doves Cry” by Prince.
