Karoondinha Cancels July Festival, Deep Roots Mountain Revival To Honor Tickets

The inaugural Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival was expected to take place July 21 – 23 at Penn’s Cave & Wildlife Park in Centre Hall, Pennsylvania. Organizers of the first-time event have announced the cancellation of the July festival and aim to reschedule at some point in the future.

We are deeply saddened to announce that Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival will not take place during the scheduled dates of July 20-23, 2017. From the beginning, our vision was to create a unique destination experience that brings music fans and artists together for an amazing weekend in a beautiful setting. Our entire team has been working tirelessly to have the event take place as planned, but have found it necessary to reschedule. We are fully committed to returning and are working to confirm alternate dates and arrangements. To everyone who has believed in Karoondinha, we are thankful and hope to continue to earn your support in the future.

Chance The Rapper, John Legend, Odesza, Paramore, Sturgill Simpson and The Roots were among the acts set to play Karoondinha ’17. Organizers of Deep Roots Mountain Revival – set to be held the same weekend in Masontown, West Virginia – will honor Karoondinha tickets. Brandi Carlile, Dr. Dog, Lettuce, JJ Grey & Mofro, Moon Taxi, Sam Bush, Yonder Mountain String Band and White Denim are just a few of the artists confirmed for Deep Roots ’17.

In a statement posted on social media, Deep Roots Mountain Revival founder Claude Ryan had this to say:

“Deep Roots Mountain Revival just learned that Karoondinha has canceled their event and we realize that it’s the ticket holders who are the ones that suffer. We never want to see another event fail, or watch the fans of the festival scene feel as though they received the short end of the stick.

In an effort to shine a positive light back into a scene that is near and dear to our hearts, we will be honoring all Karoondinha weekend and single day passes at this year’s Deep Roots Mountain Revival, July 20-22, 2017 on Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, WV.”
