Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt demonstrated his musical skills during an appearance on Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The co-star of the new feature film Beverly Hills Cop 2: Axel F played acoustic guitar while performing “Lover” by Taylor Swift.

Gordon-Levitt’s motivation for covering the title track to Swift’s 2019 album was to dedicate the song to his wife, Tasha McCauley.

“Today is actually my wife’s birthday,” Gordon-Levitt revealed. “I’m so sad because she’s not here in New York with me. I’m here working and she’s back home. I feel so terrible.”
