Joni Mitchell may be making her performance debut at the Grammys but she’s previously received nine awards and is up for her 10th as Joni Mitchell At Newport is nominated for Best Folk Album. The iconic artist was feted in 2002 with a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy.

The Grammy performance is the latest step in Joni Mitchell’s comeback after suffering a brain aneurysm in 2015. Mitchell made a surprise appearance at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival, which marked her first full public performance since 2002. She then played her first ticketed concert in over 20 years on June 10, 2023 at The Gorge.
