Jonathan Wilson & Milton Nascimento Release Collaborative ‘Moon Over Minas’ EP

American musician/producer Jonathan Wilson was recently on tour in Brazil where he encountered Brazilian singer-songwriter Milton Nascimento. Their time together resulted in a new three-song EP, Moon Over Minas.

The recordings were made at the 82-year-old Nascimento’s home in Minas Gerais. The sessions yielded takes on Nascimento’s “Tema Dos Deuses” and “Lilia.” The pair also tackled Wilson’s song, “The Valley Of The Silver Moon.”

Reflecting on the experience, Wilson wrote:

“I was [on] tour in Brazil and the first thing I thought of was Milton Nascimento. I was lucky enough to visit his home in Minas Gerais where we recorded Moon Over Minas recordings of California-meets-Minas versions of Milton’s songs ‘Tema Dos Deuses’ and ‘Lilia’ as well as my song ‘The Valley Of The Silver Moon.’ I’m so excited to finally share this project.”
