Instrumental three-piece the Jon Stickley Trio will release the single “In And About” this Friday, March 12 through Organic Records. JamBase is pleased to premiere the track ahead of its official release.

Jon Stickley Trio’s latest single comes on the heels of “Future Ghost,” a track the group unveiled last month and their 2020 studio album, Scripting The Flip. “In And About” takes its title and musical inspiration from the enforced homebound idleness of quarantine life.

Guitarist Jon Stickley provides a cinematic pattern at the heart of “In And About” that fiddler Lyndsay Pruett echoes and builds upon while Hunter Deacon lays down a strong percussive base. The song alternates between a nervous energy and a more relaxed feel.

“‘In And About’ reflects the experience many of us had when life came to a screeching halt,” Stickley tells JamBase regarding the trio’s new single. “Adjusting to life in quarantine left me feeling extremely restless, with nothing to do but climb the walls and panic. After months that frantic energy gave way to a sense of peace and gratitude for the good things in my life. Overall this song is about unexpected seismic shifts that give you perspective and the ability to see the beauty in the world.”
