According to keyboardist JoJo Hermann, Widespread Panic will stop touring after this year. JoJo emphasizes the band isn’t breaking up or retiring, but won’t tour extensively following New Year’s Eve. Hermann shared the news with The Clarion Ledger.

“We’re really wearing it out this year because we’re basically going to call it touring-wise after this year; we’re not going to tour anymore,” JoJo told The Clarion Ledger in a feature on the band. The Clarion Ledger’s article mentions, “They will continue to play shows at places like New Orleans Jazz Fest and at Red Rocks.” Hermann added, “We’re still all brothers and still going to play together … It is really not that big of a deal, I don’t think” and “It’s part of life… I’ll go home and figure out what I’m going to do for the rest of my life. I will probably go back to Proud Larry’s (in Oxford) and set up a piano.”

Widespread Panic is currently celebrating their 30th anniversary. The Georgia rockers are in the middle of a Spring Tour that will continue with two performances at the Wanee Festival this weekend. A full Summer Tour will follow the current run.
