JoJo Hermann Of Widespread Panic Throws Knuckleball Ahead Of White Sox Game

Widespread Panic are currently in Chicago for a three-night stand at the Chicago Theatre that kicks off tonight. On Wednesday night, keyboardist JoJo Hermann was on hand at US Cellular Field to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the hometown White Sox took on the Boston Red Sox.

JoJo didn’t just throw any first pitch, he honored past White Sox legends Hoyt Wilhelm and Wilbur Wood by unleashing a knuckleball. Thankfully, Hermann didn’t “baba booey” the first pitch. Watch the Widespread Panic keyboardist discuss the band’s Windy City history, his love of the blues, the importance of organists at the ball park and throw the knuckleball:

Tomorrow, percussionist Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz will take the bump at the historic Wrigley Field on the north end of town before the Chicago Cubs face the Washington Nationals in an afternoon NL contest.
