John Prine Shares New Single ‘God Only Knows’ Featuring Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires

John Prine will issue his new album The Tree of Forgiveness on April 13 through his Oh Boy Records label. The renowned singer-songwriter has shared a lyric video for the track “God Only Knows,” which features Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires.

The 71-year-old Prine recorded The Tree Of Forgiveness in Nashville with producer Dave Cobb at the historic RCA Studio A. The 10-track release marks Prine’s first album of new material in over 13 years, and includes songs co-written by Prine with Dan Auerbach, Pat McLaughlin, Roger Cook, Keith Sykes and Phil Spector. In addition to Isbell, Shires and Cobb, The Tree Of Forgiveness also features contributions from Brandi Carlile and members of Prine’s longtime backing band.

Prine will tour throughout the year in support of The Tree Of Forgiveness, beginning at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, New York on April 11. Prine then co-headlines Radio City Music Hall in New York City with Sturgill Simpson on April 13. Prine’s extensive tour also has dates with support from Kurt Vile, Milk Carton Kids, Tyler Childers, Amanda Shires, Margo Price and others. Each ticket purchased for the upcoming tour comes with a CD copy of The Tree Of Forgiveness.
