Renowned singer-songwriter John Prine is set to issue a new studio album The Tree Of Forgiveness on April 13 through his Oh Boy Records label. The 71-year-old guitarist performed a pair of songs and two of his classics during a live Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music.

Producer Dave Cobb worked with Prine on the 10 songs making up The Tree Of Forgiveness. Recorded near Prine’s current home in Nashville at the legendary RCA Studio A, the album marks Prine’s first album of new material in more than 13 years. Guests on the album include Cobb, Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires and Brandi Carlile.

The Tiny Desk Concert saw Prine joined by his backing band members, guitarist Jason Wilber, bassist David Jacques and drummer Kenneth Blevins. The quartet performed “Caravan of Fools” and “Summer’s End” from the upcoming The Tree Of Forgiveness. The set also featured Prine’s “All The Best” from his 1991 album The Missing Years and the longtime favorite “Souvenirs” from his 1972 sophomore LP Diamonds.
