John Oates, half of the iconic duo Hall & Oates, sat in with Umphrey’s for “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “The Linear” and “Let it Rock” at Aspen, CO’s Belly Up. The members of Umphrey’s McGee, especially Stasik, are outspoken Hall & Oates fans.
Oates released a new Americana record, Mississippi Mile (Warner Music), on April 12, 2011. The album emanates Oatesi musical autobiography with classic hits that influenced Oates to become the renowned musician he is today.
On what we can expect from the collaboration at Mountain Jam, Stasik said “We’re going to do an arrangement of one of his numbers, we may do one of his new numbers, and he’s going to perform possibly on one of our originals, and then maybe we’ll throw in a cover…”.
Radio Woodstock and acclaimed guitarist Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band) present the seventh annual Mountain Jam Music Festival at Hunter Mountain, in Hunter, NY from Thursday, June 2, to Sunday, June 5, 2011. For the first time, Mountain Jam will expand to include four days of music and camping. Tickets and info are available at MountainJam.com.
