Medeski, Martin, Metzger & Cline Getting Back At It For Phish After-Parties

Medeski Martin & Wood keyboardist John Medeski and drummer Billy Martin will join forces once again with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead guitarist Scott Metzger and Wilco guitarist Nels Cline for a pair of late-night concerts at Sony Hall in New York City on December 29 and 30. The quartet’s performances are among CEG Presents’ Phish After-Party shows coinciding with Phish‘s four-night Phish's 2024 New Year's Run at Madison Square Garden.

John Medeski, Billy Martin, Scott Metzger and Nels Cline teamed up for the first time at Sony Hall on December 28, 2019. The quartet reunited on December 30, 2023 at the same NYC venue and now will deliver two concerts this December. Each performance has seen the band throw down a lengthy two-hour set of improvised grooves. Percussionist Aba Diop joined the ensemble last year for the bulk of their concert.
