John Mayer Joins Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock & Aziz Ansari In NYC

Following a busy day at The Roots Picnic in New York City’s Bryant Park, on Saturday night John Mayer made a surprise appearance a few blocks over at the Comedy Cellar. The guitarist joined comedians Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Aziz Ansari on stage at the popular comedy club.
A report by Brooklyn Vegan states Mayer was joined by Cory Henry on piano, remaining on stage for more than three hours. The article also points to a note shared by fellow Cellar performer that evening Von Decarlo who posted details of the scene on Saturday night. Her message on Instagram reads in part:
What an amazing night at @nyccomedycellar. Dave Chapelle x Chris Rock hit the stage & did dual stand up. Then was joined by Aziz Ansari. Yes, they did stand up x 3. And as if the night could be any more impromptu & amazing, John Mayer hit the stage after running several blocks to get his guitar, accompanied by Cory Henry on piano. From that point, it was an all out jam session of songs mixed with comedy … As Chapelle said tonight, “Cool shit just happens when I’m around”. He’s damn sure right about that. Cool shit definitely happens when he’s around. I’m happy I was there for another surreal moment. There is NOTHING BETTER THAN LIVING THE COMEDY LIFE.
