Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will return to New Orleans this spring for their traditional visit to the city coinciding with Jazz Fest. The quintet will play three nights at The Fillmore New Orleans starting on Thursday, May 2 and running through Saturday, May 4.
The band is comprised of namesake drummer Joe Russo along with keyboardist Marco Benevento, guitarists Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton as well as bassist Dave Dreiwitz. JRAD made their Fillmore New Orleans debut last May with a similar three-night stand surrounding the second weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

The tribute act, who continually expands their songbook beyond that of the Grateful Dead, has played more shows in New Orleans than any other city outside the state of New York. Russo and his bandmates performed multiple nights at NOLA’s Joy Theater in 2015, 2016 and 2017 before moving the festivities to the Mardi Gras World Ballroom in 2018 and 2019. JRAD’s 2023 concerts at The Fillmore New Orleans marked their first performances in the Big Easy in over four years.
Tickets for all three nights can be purchased by the general public starting on Friday, February 9 at 11 a.m. CT. Up first is an Artist Presale on Wednesday, February 7 that begins at 11 a.m. CT. The password for the presale will be posted on Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s Facebook page at 11 a.m. CT on Wednesday morning.
