On March 10, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead closed out their latest run at the venue where it all began for the band, Brooklyn Bowl in New York City. Today, the quintet has shared official audio of the jam-filled concert as this week’s Taper Tuesdays installment.

JRAD kicked off the show with a cover of “The Last Time” by The Rolling Stones. Guitarist Scott Metzger sang what was a debut for the group. Next up was 20+ minute “Shakedown Street” that like many of the songs to come would feature teases of Radiohead’s “Myxomatosis.” The seamless set continued with “The Other One” and the group’s first take on “Mission In The Rain” in 41 shows. Drummer Joe Russo and keyboardist Marco Benevento infused a duo jam into the “Crazy Fingers” that followed. Then, JRAD linked to “Truckin'” with a brief instrumental jam on “The Last Time” and ended the set with a brief return to “The Other One.”

Almost Dead’s second set on March 10 was another seamless affair in which the group didn’t take a break at any point between opening the frame and closing it. Russo, Benevento, Metzger, Tom Hamilton and Dave Dreiwitz began the set with a jam they worked into the end of “Slipknot!” as an intro to “Foolish Heart.” Hamilton sang the JRAD debut of “Foolish Heart” which was followed by “Help On The Way” and a more fully-formed “Slipknot!” While the expected “Franklin’s Tower” would come, the five-piece first inserted “I Need A Miracle” into the set. Joe Russo’s Almost Dead then presented a wild “Throwing Stones” that featured an instrumental jam on Led Zeppelin’s “Good Times Bad Times” and a short cover of The Band’s “Chest Fever.” The night and run then came to a close with a “One More Saturday Night” encore.
