Joe Russo’s Almost Dead | Rad Tracks Tuesday

Grateful Dead tribute act Joe Russo’s Almost Dead have launched a new series dubbed “Rad Tracks Tuesday” this afternoon in which they’ll share a (mostly) unseen and unheard gem for our enjoyment each week.

The series starts where the band started -with the “Bertha” opener from JRAD’s first-ever show, which took place at Brooklyn Bowl in NYC on January 26. What made JRAD’s debut so special? Not only did the quintet play tight and vicious versions of some of the most complex songs in the Grateful Dead’s repertoire, but they were also raw. More importantly, all of the jams were wild and incredibly adventurous.

Not only can you watch pro-shot footage of “Bertha” below, but you can download the track for free here.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead returns this summer at Gathering Of The Vibes and will play a pair of shows in Chicago in September and a pair of shows in Colorado in October.
