Andrew Bird and Jimbo Mathus released a performance video of “Jack O’ Diamonds” from their recently released album, These 13. The former Squirrel Nut Zippers bandmates also announced a livestream special set for Sunday, April 11 from Ojai, California as part of Bird’s Performacne Now! series via Sessions Live.
Guitarist Jimbo Mathus and fiddler Andrew Bird’s collaborative album These 13 arrived on March 5. The longtime friends and collaborators previewed the album with a series of live performance videos of These 13 tracks including “Sweet Oblivion,” “Poor Lost Souls” and “Three White Horses & A Golden Chain.”

The upcoming livestream special will be similar to the performance videos featuring just the two musicians and a single microphone. Those who purchase tickets will also have a chance to view the director’s cut of the unreleased These 13 documentary. Helmed by Tyler Manson, the doc gives a deeper dive into Bird and Mathus’ collaborative creative process on the album, which saw them reconnecting after 25 years.
