Jim James Shares Donald Trump Inspired ‘Same Old Lie’ Video

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is set to issue a new solo LP Eternally Even through ATO Records/Capitol Records on November 4. Though a lyric video for the album track “Same Old Lie” has already been released, James has shared another video for the single that takes aim at Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“Most of what I think about right now is how so many things in the world are SO fucked up,” James said when announcing the new record, “our political system is broken and corrupt … our earth is being destroyed by climate change … people are not treating each other with equality and respect … and I think- are we going to make it? Are we going to figure it out and fix it before it’s too late? Can we ever truly open our hearts and embrace love in all its beautiful forms? I think it’s still possible. I still have hope in humanity.”

With the newly posted video, James wrote: “so tired of the lies and hate. please tell everyone you can to VOTE nov. 8 to help ensure that trump is never elected.”

The follow-up to James’ 2013 solo album Regions Of Light And Sound Of God has nine tracks and was co-produced with Blake Mills. Watch the video that mixes the Eternally Even single with footage from Sunday’s debate between Trump and his challenger, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton here:
