Jim James Announces Concert With National Symphony Orchestra Pops

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James will team with the National Symphony Orchestra Pops to offer a live performance of his upcoming new album. The concert will take place at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington D.C. on September 4.

Teddy Abrams will lead the NSO Pops during the live performance of his collaboration with James, The Order Of Nature: A Song Cycle. Local chorus, The Capital Hearings will also take part in the concert. James and Abrams, along with the Louisville Orchestra debuted The Order Of Nature: A Song Cycle during an April 2018 concert in Louisville.

The evening at the Kennedy Center will begin by featuring the NSO Pops on Mason Bates’s “Warehouse Medicine” from The B-Sides, Julia Wolfe’s Big Beautiful Dark and Scary and Aaron Copland’s Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo.

The concert is slated to coincide with the release of James and Abrams’ new album on Decca Gold. Tickets are on sale now here.
