Jim James Announces Intimate Shows In New York City & Los Angeles

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is gearing up for the release of Uniform Distortion, his third solo studio album, on June 29 via ATO Records. James has confirmed a pair of full band shows at intimate venues in New York City and Los Angeles in celebration of the LP.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, May 22), Jim James will lead his band in a complete performance of Uniform Distortion at Rough Trade in Brooklyn. James and his group will also play the 11-track album in full at Pico Union in Los Angeles on July 18. Tickets for both shows go up for grabs today (Monday, May 21) at 12 p.m. ET.

Fans will be asked to secure their phones and smart watches with Yondr pouches for Tuesday’s performance. Here’s more details on the policy:
Please note: No cellphones, cameras or recording devices will be allowed at tomorrow’s Rough Trade NYC performance. Upon arrival, all phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be unlocked at the end of the show. Guests maintain possession of their phones throughout the night, and if needed, may access them at designated Phone Use Areas in the lobby. All guests are encouraged to print their tickets in advance to ensure a smooth entry process. Anyone caught with a cellphone in the venue will be immediately ejected.

In related news, Jim James and his band will be the musical guests on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this Wednesday, May 23.
Uniform Distortion was produced by Jim James with Kevin Ratterman at Louisville’s La La Land studio. Contributors include Floating Action bassist Seth Kauffman and drummer Dave Givan as well as vocalists Kathleen Grace, Jamie Drake and Leslie Stevens of Dear Lemon Trees.
