Jess Cornelius’ KEXP Live Session Is There For The ‘CARE/TAKING’

Watch the New Zealand-based singer-songwriter perform songs from her new album.

New Zealand-based singer-songwriter Jess Cornelius was on tour in the United States this summer when she stopped by Seattle independent radio station KEXP. Cornelius’ visit included recording a live session focused on songs from her latest studio album, CARE/TAKING.

The 10-song CARE/TAKING was co-produced by Cornelius and multi-instrumentalist Mikal Cronin who also played several instruments on the record. Drummer Steven Urgo also contributed to Cornelius’ album.

The KEXP session saw Urgo behind the kit and Cronin playing bass and saxophone, alongside guitarist/keyboardist Paul Sukeena. Cornelius played guitar and led performances of the CARE/TAKING tracks “Back To The Mainland,” “Laps In The Drugstore” and “The Surgeon.” Cornelius’ KEXP set ended with an additional CARE/TAKING selection, offering a live take of “People Move On.”
