Jerry Garcia, Emmylou Harris & Dr. John Tribute Concerts To Be Officially Released

Three recent tribute concerts staged by Blackbird Presents will be officially released via CD, DVD, two-disc CD/DVD packages, and all digital formats. Recordings of all-star events held for late Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia as well as living legends Dr. John and Emmylou Harris will be issued at yet-to-be revealed dates.
Dear Jerry: Celebrating the Music of Jerry Garcia and The Life & Songs Of Emmylou Harris: An All-Star Concert Celebration will be released by Rounder Records while The Musical Mojo of Dr. John: A Celebration of Mac & His Music will be handled by Concord Music Group.
The Dear Jerry concert was held at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland in May of last year. The tribute concert included appearances by Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann as well as Jimmy Cliff, Bruce Hornsby, Peter Frampton, Grace Potter, David Grisman, Greensky Bluegrass, Jorma Kaukonen, Los Lobos, moe., O.A.R., Railroad Earth, the Disco Biscuits, Trampled By Turtles, Widespread Panic, Yonder Mountain String Band and Communion among others.
The Musical Mojo of Dr. John concert was held in May 2014 and featured the iconic New Orleans musician and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Mac “Dr. John” Rebennack performing in his hometown at the Saenger Theatre. The legend was joined by the likes of Allen Toussaint, Anders Osborne, Bill Kreutzmann, Bruce Springsteen, Charles Neville, Chuck Leavell, Aaron Neville, Cyril Neville, George Porter Jr., Jason Isbell, John Fogerty, Jimmie Vaughan, John “Papa” Gros,Mavis Staples, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, The Dirty Dozen Horns, Warren Haynes, Widespread Panic, Zigaboo Modeliste and more.
Held in January 2015 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C., The Life & Songs Of Emmylou Harris concert saw Harris performing alongside many fellow iconic musicians. Appearing with her that night was Alison Krauss, Conor Oberst, Daniel Lanois, Iron & Wine, Kris Kristofferson, Lucinda Williams, Mavis Staples, Patty Griffin, Rodney Crowell, Sara Watkins, Shawn Colvin, Sheryl Crow, Shovels & Rope, Steve Earle, The Milk Carton Kids, Trampled By Turtles, Buddy Miller, Don Was and several others.
