A recording of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman performing “There Ain’t No Bugs On Me” is now available to stream via YouTube. The track appears on Bare Bones – The Duo Recordings: Volume I – Master Takes, which is available digitally through Grisman’s Acoustic Disc.
Volumes II and III are also available to purchase digitally. A physical version of Bare Bones: Volume I – Master Takes — 3 CD or 2 LP — will be available in stores and online on December 13. Preorder via Garcia Family Provisions.
Bare Bones Volume I includes seven master takes from longtime friends and collaborators Jerry Garcia and David Grisman’s ‘90s albums Garcia/Grisman, Shady Grove and Been All Around This World.
Most of the remaining tracks on Volume 1 originally appeared on 1993’s Not For Kids Only. Garcia and Grisman tracked Not For Kids Only as a duo with “percussion, fiddle, autoharp, vocal harmonies, and yes, even insects,” as per a press release, overdubbed while Jerry was out on the road. Bare Bones Volume 1 presents the unadorned tracks with just Garcia and Grisman.
