Jennifer Hartswick Shares Behind-The-Scenes Video Of The Making Of New Album ‘Nexus’

Next month, trumpeter/vocalist Jennifer Hartswick will release her new solo album Nexus. Hartswick shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the record that’s due out September 7 in a newly shared “making of” video.

The behind-the-scenes footage features Hartswick hosting sessions at Trey Anastasio’s Vermont-based recording studio known as The Barn. Hartswick’s fellow Trey Anastasio Band horn section member, trombonist Natalie Cressman appears in the video and on the eight-song record. Hartswick also recruited her longtime collaborator, guitarist Nick Cassarino of The Nth Power and Grammy-winning multi-instrumentalist Christian McBride.

Hartswick discusses her longstanding musical relationship with fellow Vermonter Cassarino and how a chance meeting with McBride led to the talented musician playing bass and keys on Nexus. Watch the “making of” clip below:
