Pioneering jamgrass musician Jeff Austin died in Seattle on Monday. Tributes to the co-founding member of the Yonder Mountain String Band and Jeff Austin Band have been pouring in since the news was announced on Tuesday.

Last night, an all-star quintet that included two of Austin’s longtime Yonder band mates headlined the Friends Of Folk Festival in Estes Park, Colorado. Yonder’s Ben Kaufmann and Adam Aijala were joined by Jeremy Garrett of The Infamous Stringdusters, Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon and Stephen Mougin of Sam Bush‘s band. Kaufmann took a moment before the quintet’s cover of “No Expectations” by The Rolling Stones to dedicate the song to Jeff.

“You know this is a pretty tough day and we’re going to play this song for Jeff Austin,” the bassist said. “We used to do this song in Yonder and I know for me, the last time I played this song was with Jeff, and I’m pretty sure I can say the same about Adam. Now I guess I get to sing it, I’ll do my best.” Watch fan-shot video of the cover and dedication starting at the 5:30 mark thanks to C Alan Crandall:

Leftover Salmon’s Vince Herman penned a beautiful song in tribute to Jeff and shared a video featuring Herman performing the song on the side of a lake:

Keller Williams also took to the outdoors to film his cover of Jeff’s “New Horizons”:
