‘Right Outside This Lazy Summer Home’: Jazz Is Dead Outlines June 2024 Tour Dates

Steve Kimock, Alphonso Johnson, Pete Lavezzoli and Bobby Lee Rodgers will bring their interpretation of Grateful Dead music back to the Northeast.

Jazz Is Dead returns to the Northeast in June for a series of five “Right Outside This Lazy Summer Home Tour” dates. The Grateful Dead tribute act will start the brief run in New England before closing the excursion with two shows in New York.

The latest iteration of Jazz Is Dead is comprised of bassist Alphonso Johnson, guitarist Steve Kimock, multi-instrumentalist Bobby Lee Rodgers and drummer Pete Lavezzoli. Jazz Is Dead reformed in 2023 after an eight-year hiatus to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the project.

Up first for the trek which takes its name from an “Eyes Of The World” lyric is a show at The Wilbur in Boston on June 6. Jazz Is Dead heads to Connecticut next for concerts in Fairfield on June 7 and New London on June 8. The quartet is currently slated to end the jaunt with performances in New York City on July 9 and Tarrytown (New York) on June 15.
