Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro Missing Tour With Smashing Pumpkins Due To Long COVID
Read a note from Dave.
Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro announced that he will sit out the band’s co-headlining tour with The Smashing Pumpkins due to long COVID. In a note posted to Jane’s Addiction social media, Navarro explained his condition and announced that guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens Of The Stone Age) will fill in on the Spirits On Fire Tour scheduled to kick off this weekend on October 2 in Dallas.
In his note, Navarro said he had been battling long COVID since December 2021 and that he had hoped to be recovered before October but was still “very fatigued.” He expressed his disappointment that the original Jane’s Addiction lineup had reunited with the return of bassist Eric Avery but that he could not participate. The guitarist did however note that he would be working in the studio on Jane’s Addiction material and that he hoped to “get to a show one night and watch my own band for the first time ever.” Read the full note from Navarro below:
