After a week of hints from promoter Madison House Presents, British electro-funk act Jamiroquai has confirmed their return to New York City. The recently reunited act will play Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on September 8.
The band’s headlining show in NYC is one of four U.S. dates confirmed for Jamiroquai. Up first is an appearance at the first weekend of Coachella on April 13. Jamiroquai then plays the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on April 17 before returning to Indio for the second weekend of Coachella.
All had been quiet in the world of Jamiroquai until early last year, when frontman Jay Kay & Co. announced Automaton – their first album since 2010’s Rock Dust Light Star. Jamiroquai embarked on a world tour in support of the release in 2017 yet didn’t bring the run to North America. The band returns to the road on April 10 in Mexico City ahead of the Coachella appearances and show at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
Jamiroquai’s upcoming performance in The Big Apple will be their first since October 2005. Read a review of one of those shows written by contributor Bee Getz.
