James Taylor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday. The legendary singer-songwriter performed “You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught” from his 2020 covers album, American Standard.

American Standard arrived in February and recently nabbed a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. For the Kimmel appearance, Taylor delivered the LP’s “You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught” — a Rodgers and Hammerstein composition from the 1949 musical South Pacific — on acoustic guitar accompanied by violinist Stuart Duncan as well as the album’s co-producer and longtime JT collaborator John Pizzarelli on additional acoustic guitar.
