Today, Jake Xerxes Fussell released the new singles “Frolic” and “Breast Of Glass.” Both songs appear on the folk musician’s forthcoming Good and Green Again album, which arrives through Paradise of Bachelors on January 21.
Good and Green Again marks Jake Xerxes Fussell’s fourth studio album and first since 2019’s Out Of Sight. James Elkington (Jeff Tweedy, Michael Chapman, Steve Gunn) produced and contributed to the nine-track LP. The album was recorded and mixed by James Richmond at Overdub Lane in Fussell’s hometown of Durham, North Carolina.
Elkington played piano, organ, dobro, mandola, vibraphone and guitars on Good and Green Again. The album also features Casey Toll on upright bass, Libby Rodenbough on violin and viola, Joe Westerlund on drums and percussion, Anna Jacobson on french horn and trumpet and Nathan Golub on pedal steel guitar. Bonnie “Prince” Billy contributed additional vocals while tracks “What Did The Hen Duck Say To The Drake?” and “In Florida” contain fiddle from Joseph Decosmino.
