San Francisco Giants pitcher and musician Jake Peavy has announced the launch of his “Grateful For San Francisco” campaign in support of the Rex Foundation and the Jake Peavy Foundation. Part of the campaign includes a contest to watch the Giants final home game of the season on October 2 with Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and Deadhead NBA legend Bill Walton.
Peavy teamed with Omaze to offer the VIP experience that also includes a post-game jam session with Hart, Peavy and others. A donation of $10 or more earns an entry in the contest. Proceeds will benefit the Larkin Street Youth Services efforts to build recording studio that will provide music facilities for local homeless children.
Here’s a description of what the winner of the contest will experience:
You’ll get premium seats at the final game of the regular season, but that’s just the beginning. Before the game, you’ll watch batting practice and get field and dugout access. And after the game, you’ll hang out with Jake Peavy and watch him (he’s a talented musician, fyi) have an actual jam session with Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead! All Rice-A-Roni aside, this is a true San Francisco treat. Flights and hotel included.
