Jade Bird Performs ‘Headstart’ For ‘Fallon’

British singer-songwriter Jade Bird returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night. The 23-year-old musician led her band through a remote performance of recent single “Headstart.”

Jade Bird released “Headstart” last November and the track is expected to appear on the forthcoming follow-up to her 2019 self-titled debut album. “‘Headstart’ came out of a trip I made to upstate New York at the beginning of the year,” Jade said of the single in a statement accompanying its release. “It’s quite a light-hearted song, about liking someone who just can’t see the signs, and releasing it feels like community to me, and it makes me want to sing again.”
