Singer-songwriter Jackie Greene will issue a new EP, The Modern Lives – Vol 2, through Blue Rose Music this October. A video for the previously shared single “Crazy Comes Easy” is now available.

Last year Greene released The Modern Lives – Vol. 1 EP featuring six new songs recorded in his basement recording studio in his former home in Brooklyn. The six tracks on The Modern Lives – Vol 2 were also recorded in Brooklyn prior to Greene’s recent relocation to Sacramento, California.

Premiered by Billboard, the Sebastian Smith-directed video for “Crazy Comes Easy” stars three-time cancer survivor Martha Halas. Greene told Billboard it was Blue Rose Music managing director Meredith DiMenna who came up with the video’s concept.

“I thought it was so kooky, so not what anyone would expect from me, I was just like, ‘Yeah, go for it…'” Greene told Billboard. “It has sort of a weird little old school Disney vibe to it. I heard the idea and just started laughing. I probably wouldn’t have thought of something like this, which is why it’s interesting to sort of hand it off. I thought (DiMenna) did a great job. I’m super proud of it … It’s an upbeat, fun song. I’m not trying to be deadly serious or anything. It’s just a fun rock song for me. Everything’s so serious nowadays I feel good to have a kooky, lighthearted (video) out there.”
