Jack White returns with “Taking Me Back,” his first new solo music since the Third Man Records founder’s 2018 album, Boarding House Reach. White played all instruments and provided all vocals found on the new single, which also arrived with a more laidback version entitled “Taking Me Back (Gently).”

“Taking Me Back” was produced by Jack White and recorded at Nashville’s Third Man Studios. A portion of the song was featured in the trailer for the forthcoming video game Call Of Duty: Vanguard. Jack’s “Taking Me Back” lyric video contains footage from the game which will be released on November 5.

Jack White devoted 2019 to touring with The Raconteurs. The band featuring White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler played shows around the world in support of their 2019 album, Help Us Stranger, the long-awaited follow-up to 2008’s Consolers Of The Lonely. In 2020, Jack served as the musical guest on an episode of Saturday Night Live and White played a surprise show at Third Man Records new London outpost last month.
