Jack White Joins IDLES At Riot Fest On Rowdy Rendition of ‘Never Fight A Man With A Perm’

Riot Fest performers IDLES and Jack White came together for a collaboration during the former’s set on Sunday. Jack joined the British band for a boisterous rendering of their song “Never Fight a Man With a Perm” at Chicago’s Douglass Park.

Jack came aboard with IDLES nine songs into their set. “Never Fight a Man With a Perm” appears on IDLES 2018 album, Joy as an Act of Resistance. The Riot Fest play of the song saw Jack cranking things up a notch with wild, scorching riffs during a rowdy performance. Watch a clip below:

IDLES kicked off their Riot Fest set with “Heel/Heal” from their 2017 debut LP, Brutalism. Additional favorites performed included “Gift Horse,” “Mother,” “I’m Scum,” “Dancer” and “Danny Nedelko.”

After the latter, the band delivered a cover of Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” before sealing the set with a rendition of Soft Play‘s “Rottweiler.”
