Guitarist Jack White is the latest artist to participate in Spotify’s Spotify Singles series. Each installment features contributors laying down both an original and cover. White picked a song off the recently released Boarding House Reach and also tackled a standout track from Modern Lovers’ self-titled debut album.

Jack White utilized his touring band for the two-track set, which was recorded at Spotify’s New York City studios. White is currently on the road with drummer Carla Azar, keyboardists Quincy McCrary and Neal Evans and Dominic Davis on bass. The group first serves up a frenetic take on Boarding House Reach rocker “Over And Over And Over.”

White then leads the ensemble on Modern Lovers’ “Pablo Picasso,” a song penned by Jonathan Richman. In typical Jack White fashion, there’s plenty of angular guitar leads in his version of the tune.
