Jack White Covers Bob Dylan At Bernie Sanders Rally In Detroit
By Andy Kahn Oct 28, 2019 • 9:04 am PDT

Jack White performed on Sunday at a rally for Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. White covered Bob Dylan and played The White Stripes songs during his appearance in Detroit at his alma mater Cass Technical High School.
White voiced support for Sanders’ candidacy and altered the lyrics to Dylan’s “License To Kill” to reference current U.S. President Donald Trump. White played guitar while backed by drummer Ben Blackwell and bassist (and fellow Cass Tech alum) Dominic Miller, also offering takes on The White Stripes favorites “Icky Thump,” “Black Math,” “We’re Going To Be Friends” and “Seven Nation Army.”
Video from the rally — beginning with White’s solo cut “Connected By Love” — is below (audio slightly improves around the 11-minute mark):
