Rapper J. Cole will release his album, The Fall-Off, on February 6. The confirmation of the long-in-the-making album arrived with the lead single, “Disc 2 Track 2.”

J. Cole revealed intentions to release an album project with the title The Fall-Off, as far back as 2018. The North Carolina native hip-hop musician’s last full length album was his 2021 release, The Off-Season.

J. Cole addressed the lengthy time spent on The Fall-Off, sharing the below statement with the visual accompanying “Disc 2 Track 2”:

“For the past 10 years, this album has been hand crafted with one intention: a personal challenge to myself to create my best work. To do on my last what I was unable to do on my first.

“I had no way of knowing how much time, focus and energy it would eventually take to achieve this, but despite the countless challenges along the way, I knew in my heart I would one day get to the finish line.

“I owed it first and foremost to myself. And secondly, I owed it to hip hop.”
