The Infamous Stringdusters Share ‘Truth & Love’ Video

In April, The Infamous Stringdusters followed up their 2018 Grammy-winning Bluegrass Album of the Year Laws of Gravity with a new record, Rise Sun. In the time since, the jamgrass favorites have begun roll out music videos for various tracks off the LP, including a visual for title track “Rise Sun” in May. Now, the band has released a video for “Truth & Love,” which was premiered via Relix.

Directed by photographer Jay Strausser, the video shows moments of the band’s life on the road using a technique akin to stop-motion animation. In addition to strings of gorgeous shots of the band’s live performances, which highlight the work of their lighting director Jason Gutworth, the video also captures moments from behind-the-scenes. Brief images from greenrooms, meals and soundchecks enhance the song’s personal and nostalgic feel, creating a subtle narrative throughout the clip.

As guitarist Andy Falco told Relix:

We’ve always admired [Strausser’s] work and when the opportunity arose to bring him out on the road we naturally jumped on it. He is able to deliver a visual narrative of our shows and somehow capture the energy of the band and audience in pictures which is a crucial part of telling our story to the world. He created this video for ‘Truth and Love’ using clusters of still photos from the road and achieved a fantastically unique looking video that also showcases the amazing work out our lighting director Jason Gutworth. We look forward to bringing him back out on fall tour, and we’re so psyched to stretch the new songs from ‘Rise Sun’ out to see what musical journey’s will come with exploring their live possibilities.
