In 1973, impresario Bill Graham presented the first-ever “Day On The Green” concert at the humongous Oakland Coliseum. The “Day On The Green” concert series was a smashing success and multiple events were held under the moniker in the years that followed featuring such artists as the Grateful Dead, Chicago, The Band, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles. On September 4, a number of iconic Bay Area acts will come together at AT&T Park in San Francisco for a concert paying homage to Graham’s “Day On The Green” events.
Journey, Santana, Steve Miller Band and The Doobie Brothers will be joined by special guests at AT&T Park for the concert dubbed “San Francisco Fest 2016 – On The Green.” The concert will start at 3 p.m. and continue into the evening. “This concert is the ultimate homecoming show for us and we are blessed to perform with our Bay Area friends,” said Journey in a statement announcing the concert. “Our history with everyone runs deep and it’s going to be a show you won’t want to miss.”

The four acts played a total of 12 “Day On The Green” concerts from 1975 through 1983. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 18 at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster.
