Hozier Performs Live At The Current

Irish guitarist and singer-songwriter Hozier (Andrew Byrne), recently stopped into Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current to perform three tracks from his latest album, Wasteland, Baby!

Backed by a band that included percussion, bass, keyboards, violin and handclapping backup singers, Hozier played the songs “Almost (Sweet Music),” “Movement” and “Nina Cried Power.” The latter is a tribute to the legendary Nina Simone as well as Joni Mitchell, Billie Holliday, James Brown and Mavis Staples, who sings on the studio version.
