Howlin Rain Plays For ‘Jam In The Van’

Howlin Rain issued their latest studio album The Alligator Bride earlier this month on Silver Current Records. The Oakland-based outfit led by guitarist/vocalist Ethan Miller performed songs from the album during a recent session for the Jam In The Van series.

The mobile recording studio captured Miller and his band mates bassist Jeff McElroy, guitarist Dan Cervantes and drummer Justin Smith performing three of the seven songs that make up The Alligator Bride. Recorded while they were at the Huichica Festival in Sonoma, California shortly after the album came out, the quartet offered a seven-minute take on the record’s title track and spent more than nine minutes delivering its single “The Wild Boys.” The group also played the LP’s opening song “Rainbow Trout.”
