Hot Chip brought out Four Tet (Kieran Hebden) to play guitar on a cover of Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” last night at Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner. Members of opening act Friedberg also participated in the collaborative cover performance.
Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard introduced the special guests as the band retook the stage for the evening’s encore.
“We have the amazing Friedberg who were playing just prior to us,” Goddard said. “And also, a friend from the same school that [Hot Chip’s] Alexis [Taylor], Owen [Clarke] and I attended when were 12 years old: Kieran Hebden, Four Tet! We’re going to play a song by one of our favorite bands in the world pretty much, the Beastie Boys.”
Hot Chip’s main set also saw the emergence of Amy Douglas who performs with Goddard in the group Hard Feelings. The guest vocalist helped out on the HARD FEELINGS songs “Dangerous” and “Hungry Child.”
