On May 11, The Hollywood Vampires launched their highly anticipated seven-date tour. After their tour-opening run in Las Vegas on Friday, the supergroup featuring Alice Cooper, Aerosmith‘s Joe Perry and actor Johnny Depp continued on to Los Angeles, where they performed a star-studded show at the historic Greek Theatre.
Toward the end of the one-set performance, the band welcomed out Marilyn Manson for a rendition of Cooper’s “I’m Eighteen,” off 1971’s Love It To Death. However, the appearance of Cooper’s former touring mate was not the only surprise of the night. Instead, after Manson departed the stage, the group welcomed out Perry’s “Toxic Twin” and Aerosmith bandmate, Steven Tyler. Tyler sat in with the band for a rendition of Tiny Bradshaw’s “The Train Kept A-Rollin’,” which Aerosmith recorded on their sophomore album, 1974’s Get Your Wings.

Outside of the special guests, The Hollywood Vampires performed a rock-heavy show featuring a mix of their originals and classic covers. To start the show, the group previewed their forthcoming album, Rise, which is due out in June, with a show-opening performance of “I Want My Now,” followed by originals “Raise The Dead” and “As Bad As I Am.” However, the majority of the show consisted of covers, with the band drawing on the catalogs of The Doors, AC/DC, The Who, David Bowie and others throughout. For the encore, after the new album’s “We Gotta Rise,” the band offered another Alice Cooper selection, “School’s Out,” which they mixed with a snippet of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall.”
