Last year, Holly Bowling released her album Better Left Unsung made up of solo piano interpretations of classic Grateful Dead songs. Video of her performing an instrumental Dead tune that was not included on the album was recently shared by the pianist.

Having first started by arranging Phish compositions for piano, Bowling began working with the Grateful Dead songbook following her 2015 contribution of “Eyes Of The World” to the JamBase Songs Of Their Own video series in honor of the iconic group’s 50th anniversary. She’s since added sharing the stage with co-founding members of the band Phil Lesh and Bob Weir to her impressively growing resume. Her latest take on the Dead is a performance of the instrumental “Sage & Spirit,” which appeared on the band’s 1975 album Blues For Allah.
