High Sierra Music Festival Adds Guests And Announces Contest Winner & 2018 Daily Schedules

High Sierra Music Festival returns for its 28th installment July 5 – 8 at Plumas-Sierra Fairgrounds in Quincy, California. Organizers recently detailed news about the event including musicians set to take part in the Lebo & Friends and Foundation Of Funk sets, the daily schedule and a pair of up-and-coming acts that have been added to the bill.

Trumpeter/vocalist Jennifer Hartswick and trombonist/vocalist Natalie Cressman will be joining Lebo & Friends at High Sierra. ALO guitarist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz’s band was already set to include bassist George Porter Jr., organist Melvin Seals and drummer Jay Lane. Speaking of George Porter Jr., his Foundation Of Funk lineup with fellow founding member of The Meters Zigaboo Modeliste will also feature percussionist Cyril Neville, keyboardist Ivan Neville and multi-instrumentalist Tony Hall.

High Sierra organizers also unveiled the grids featuring the daily schedule. An interactive scheduler is available here in which users can sort by day, by stage, view additional artist info and create a personalized schedule that can be synced to phones and calendars. Recently, San Luis Obispo-based seven-piece Wordsauce was revealed as the winner of High Sierra’s 2018 Band Contest. Humboldt funk act Diggin Dirt lost by a small margin and have been invited to perform at this year’s festival as well.

The String Cheese Incident, Sturgill Simpson, Grace Potter, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Lettuce, The Wood Brothers and Lotus are just some of the dozens of acts that will play High Sierra ’18. Check out the full lineup below. Passes for the festival are on sale now via Eventbrite.
