Hermanos Gutiérrez made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday. The guitar duo of brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez performed the title track from their most recent studio album, Sonido Cósmico.

The Dan Auerbach-produced record arrived on June 14, 2024 via The Black Keys guitarist’s Easy Eye Sound. Hermanos Gutiérrez drew inspiration for Sonido Cósmico’s title track from the updated Dune movie.

Estevan shared how the aptly named song, which translates in English to “Cosmic Sound,” came together in an interview with Nashville’s WNXP:

“My brother was inspired by watching Dune the movie, and I also watched a movie in the same time, but we didn’t know that we were watching that movie together, like in the same time. And so I remember when he showed me this one idea and he was like, ‘hey, this is like something new. But you have to add the thing that you feel for the song.’ And so I tried to play a melody. We have these magic moments…they’re so beautiful and powerful. And that was definitely one special moment that we had.”

In another sci-fi tie-in, Hermanos Gutiérrez are introduced by Jimmy Kimmel Live guest host Diego Luna of Stars Wars: Andor fame. Watch Alejandro and Estevan blend their shimmering guitar parts with the performance of “Sonido Cósmico” on Kimmel below:
